I coach because...
I am an educator. I believe in working with the 18-22 year-olds every day. I love the youth, the competition, the energy, the challenges, the ability to influence young ladies both on and off the court. Also, I love to win.
What I expected coaching basketball to be:
A combination of teaching sociology and psychology and a high level of phys ed.
What it really is:
All of the above and more. Basketball is my passion and coaching is the next best thing to playing.
Advice I would give to an aspiring basketball coach:
Stay focused, stay true to your work and be prepared to work hard – the most important thing.
Why I love basketball:
I played my entire life with my family, especially my sister and it taught me toughness. I have great memories. Now I can continue to allow others to share my sort of memories with my team.
