What playing professional basketball means to me:
It reflects the dedication and all the hard work I have put in to reach my success. I am very competitive and love playing the game at a high level.
What I expected professional basketball to be:
I expected it to be highly competitive and the players to be much physically stronger and quicker.
What it really is:
It is very competitive and now it is a job...so it is your responsibility to take care of your body and perform at the highest level.
Something I wish I'd learned while playing lower division basketball:
I wish I would have learned more fundamentals and ball handling while playing at the college level.
Why I love playing basketball:
Basketball has given me so many opportunities in life. Also, I am a competitor and basketball gives me a chance to compete at a very high level.
The women’s player that’s most fun to watch right now...
Tamika Catchings and Diana Taurasi.
My most memorable coach (and why)...
My high school coach, Jack Harlow, because he is the reason why I am so mentally tough. He prepared me for college and really made me mentally tough which helped my whole game. And then how could I not mention Pat Summitt??!! Her legacy speaks for itself!
I'd go crazy on a road trip without...
My cell phone and music.
A teammate (past or present) that I’ve been the most inspired by is (and why)...
Kara Lawson, because she has such a great work ethic. She gives 110% every time she steps on the court.
Three things I'd like to do before I die...
1. Travel the world. I love to travel!
2. Start for a WNBA team and win a championship
3. Pay back my parents for everything they have done for me!
Advice I'd give to a younger player who plays my position is...
Work hard every day and give 110% everytime you step on the floor. Play like every day is your last because you dont know when the last time you will step on the court. Don't take one day for granted!
An aspect of my game that I'd really like to improve is...
Creating my own shot off the dribble and ball handling
